Fourth of July

So now I’ve made a couple single tiered cakes, so it is only natural that I move onto 3 tiered cakes, right? Well, I gave the 3 tiered cake a try and as pretty as it looked, I learned that cakes need structure. About 6 hours in, the cake started to sink into itself. And after a small drive to our friend’s house for the Fourth of July, the cake was looking a little lop sided. Next time I would put cake boards or something in between each tier and I have also heard that putting straws or sticks in the center of each tier helps with stability as well!

I wish I had a picture of the inside of this cake. Each tier had red and blue layered cake with white frosting!
